Electric Instant Geyser Repair in Delhi NCR — your questions answered
My instant geyser will not switch on. Why?
An instant geyser only fires when it senses water flowing through it, so the first thing to check is flow — low mains pressure or a partly blocked inlet filter will stop it starting. If flow is good, the flow switch itself has failed, and that is an inexpensive replacement.
Why is the water cold when I open the tap fully?
The unit is working correctly. An instant geyser has a fixed heating capacity, so the faster water moves through it the less each litre is heated. Reducing the flow gives hotter water. If it was previously fine at full flow, the element has partially failed or scaled.
Do instant geysers need descaling too?
Yes, and more urgently than storage units on hard water. The heating chamber is small, so scale that would be a nuisance in a storage tank chokes flow completely in an instant unit. Annual descaling keeps both the flow rate and the heating output where they should be.
Is an instant geyser enough for a shower?
For a quick wash, or for a kitchen sink, yes. For a full shower most instant units simply cannot heat water fast enough at shower flow rates, which is why a storage geyser is the right appliance for a bathroom. If you are choosing, we will tell you honestly which suits your use.
Do you repair gas geysers as well as electric ones?
Yes — gas instant and gas storage units, covering ignition faults, gas valves, flame failure sensors and burner cleaning. On a gas geyser the ventilation check is not optional. An instant gas unit in an unventilated bathroom is the single most dangerous appliance installation we encounter.
