There is water dripping from my geyser. Is that normal?
A slow drip from the pressure relief valve during heating is normal and by design. A drip from anywhere else is not. Water from the body seam usually means the inner tank has corroded through, and that is not repairable — we will tell you straight away rather than selling you a repair that will fail.
Can a geyser be repaired, or does it need replacing?
Elements, thermostats, cut-outs, valves and wiring are all straightforward, economic repairs, and descaling is always worth doing. The one thing we cannot fix is a corroded inner tank. If the tank has gone, the honest answer is replacement, and we will say so.
Can I get an estimate over the phone?
We can give you a range for common faults, and we will. What we will not do is commit to a firm figure sight-unseen, because the same symptom regularly has three different causes at three different prices. The diagnosis settles it properly.
