FAQ
What Delhi NCR customers usually ask
Why is my freezer cold but the fridge warm?
It is a frost-free machine, so the fridge is cooled by air blown from the freezer evaporator. If the defrost system fails, ice builds over that evaporator and blocks the airflow — the freezer stays cold because it is next to the ice, and the fridge gets nothing. A seized evaporator fan produces the same symptom.
What actually fails in a defrost system?
Three parts, and it is worth testing all three: the defrost heater itself, the bi-metal thermostat that tells it when to stop, and the timer or control board that decides when to start. Replacing the heater alone when the thermostat is the real fault is a repair that comes straight back.
There is loud rattling from the freezer. What is it?
Usually the evaporator fan blade catching on ice that has built up around it — which is itself a defrost fault, not a fan fault. Sometimes the fan motor bearing has simply worn. Either way it is worth attending, because a fan that stops means a fridge that stops cooling.
How long should a double door refrigerator last?
Ten to fifteen years with reasonable care. Defrost components, fans, sensors and boards are all economic repairs across that whole span. The point at which replacement becomes the better answer is a sealed-system failure — a leaking evaporator or a dead compressor — on a unit already past ten.
Should I repair or replace a refrigerator that is not cooling?
It depends entirely on which part failed. Relays, thermostats, sensors, fans and defrost heaters are all economic repairs. A failed compressor or a leaking evaporator inside the cabinet wall on an older unit is a different conversation, and we will give you the numbers rather than a recommendation to spend.
