A large share of washing machine call-outs come down to three things: hard water scaling the heating element and drum, too much detergent leaving residue through the pipes, and loads heavy enough to wear out the drum bearings. All three are avoidable, and all three are repairable if they are caught before the bearing or the board goes.

Washing Machine Repair — Common Questions
Why will my machine not drain?
On a front load machine the drain-pump filter is the first suspect — coins, buttons and lint collect there and block it. If the filter is clear, it is usually the pump itself or a blocked drain hose.
My machine is very noisy on spin. Is that serious?
Grinding or rumbling on spin usually means the drum bearings are going. It is worth attending early: run for long enough, a bearing failure can damage the drum and turn a moderate repair into a replacement.
Do you repair semi-automatic machines as well?
Yes, including timer, spin motor, wash motor and gearbox faults on semi-automatic machines, as well as fully automatic front and top load models.
Can hard water damage a washing machine?
It scales the heating element and the drum, which makes the machine work harder and shortens element life. A monthly hot cycle with a descaler helps, and we will tell you if scaling is what caused your fault.
