Do you carry spare parts to the visit?

Are parts still available for LCD televisions?
Often, but not always. Inverter boards, power boards and CCFL lamps are still obtainable for mainstream models, though genuine main boards for discontinued sets can be impossible to source. We check availability during the diagnosis and tell you before you commit.
Is repairing an old LCD TV worth the money?
If the fault is the inverter, the lamps or the power board, generally yes — those are modest repairs on a set that will keep going for years. If the panel itself has failed, it is not, and we will tell you that rather than quoting for it.
I have sound but no picture. What is wrong?
That is the signature backlight failure. The panel and the sound circuit are fine — the LED strips lighting the screen have gone. Shine a torch at an angle on the dark screen: if you can faintly see the picture, it is confirmed. Backlight strips are a repairable, reasonably priced fault.
