Window AC Repair in Delhi NCR — your questions answered
Is a window AC worth repairing?
Usually, yes — considerably more so than most people assume. Capacitors, fan motors, thermostats and relays are inexpensive, and the sealed system on a window unit is simple and robust. Unless the compressor itself has failed on an already old unit, repair is nearly always the better value.
Why is water dripping inside the room?
The unit is not sloping correctly. A window AC must sit very slightly lower at the outside end so condensate drains away from the room. Over time the mounting settles or the sleeve packing compresses. Correcting the slope fixes it, and a blocked drain hole does the same thing.
The fan works but the compressor does not start. What is that?
Nearly always the run capacitor. It is the single most common window AC fault, an inexpensive part, and a ten-minute replacement. It can also be the overload protector or the relay. A genuinely failed compressor is far down the list of likely causes.
Do you still service older window AC models?
Yes. Window units are mechanically straightforward and parts remain widely available, so age is much less of an obstacle than it is on a modern inverter split. We regularly get twelve and fifteen year old window ACs cooling properly again.
Should I get my AC serviced before summer?
Yes, and February to March is the right window. Pre-season servicing costs the same as mid-season but you get a technician within hours rather than days, and a coil cleaned before the heat arrives runs measurably cheaper across the whole season.
