Overview
The Delhi NCR context behind most single door refrigerator faults
A single door refrigerator uses direct-cool technology — no fans, no ducting, just an evaporator plate inside a small freezer box chilling the cabinet by convection. Fewer parts means fewer things to go wrong, and it also means the faults are predictable: the thermostat, the relay, the door gasket and the manual defrost that never gets done.
We repair single door refrigerators across Gurgaon, Noida, Delhi and Faridabad. What fails first genuinely differs by city — water hardness, supply voltage, dust load and the age of the housing all push the fault pattern in different directions — so the city pages below carry that local detail rather than repeating a single national answer.
We carry the fast-moving parts on the vehicle and pick them based on what you describe at booking, which is why most jobs finish in a single trip rather than a diagnosis today and a repair on Thursday.
What We Do
The faults we put right
Each of these is diagnosed on site before anything is quoted.
Thermostat & Cooling Control
Thermostats that stick, run continuously or cut out early — the single most common single-door fault by a wide margin.
Relay & Overload Protector
Start relays and overload protectors behind the classic hum-click-stop compressor symptom.
Manual Defrost & Ice
Heavy ice on the freezer plate, blocked defrost drains and the water that ends up in the vegetable tray.
Door Gasket & Sealing
Hardened and torn magnetic gaskets that let warm air in, forcing the compressor to run without ever satisfying the thermostat.
Symptoms
What your single door refrigerator is telling you
These are the symptoms that bring most of our Delhi NCR bookings in. None of them improve on their own.
- The cabinet is cold but never actually cools properly
- The compressor runs without stopping all day
- Ice building up thickly on the freezer plate
- Water pooling in the vegetable tray
- The compressor hums, clicks and cuts out repeatedly
- The door no longer holds a sheet of paper when closed
Process
How we work in your home
You know the price before stage four.
01
Book a slot
Tell us the brand, the type and what is happening. Cooling faults and electrical faults need different parts on board.
02
Full cooling diagnosis
Compressor, relay, thermostat, sensors, defrost circuit and gas pressure are all checked. A fridge that will not cool has six plausible causes.
03
Price confirmed first
You get the fault, the price, and an honest view on whether the unit is worth the money.
04
Repair and charge
Component repairs are done on site. Gas work is done properly: leak repaired, system vacuumed, charged by weight.
05
Cooling verified
Temperature is verified in both compartments before the warranty is handed over.

FAQ
Delhi NCR Single Door Refrigerator Repair — questions and answers
How often should a single door fridge be defrosted?
Every three to four weeks, or as soon as the ice on the freezer plate is thicker than a centimetre. Ice is an insulator — the thicker it gets, the harder the compressor has to work for less cooling, and that is what shortens its life.
Why does the compressor never switch off?
Either the thermostat has failed closed and never tells the compressor to stop, or the cabinet genuinely cannot reach its set temperature. A perished door gasket, thick freezer ice or low refrigerant all produce the second one. The distinction matters, because only one of them is a cheap fix.
Is a fifteen-year-old single door fridge worth repairing?
Often yes. Thermostats, relays, overload protectors and door gaskets are inexpensive parts and these units are mechanically simple. Where it stops being worth it is a leaking evaporator or a failed compressor, and we will tell you which you have before you spend anything.
My fridge is cooling but there is water underneath. Why?
The defrost drain channel at the back of the cabinet is blocked, so meltwater backs up instead of running into the tray above the compressor. It is a straightforward clean-out and not a sign of anything more serious.
My compressor hums then stops after a few seconds. Is it dead?
Not necessarily, and it is worth checking before you replace anything. That symptom is far more often a failed start relay or overload protector than a failed compressor — both are inexpensive parts. It can also be low supply voltage. A genuine compressor failure is the least likely of the three.
